Hola from Thailand! Would say it in Thai but somehow can't even learn how to say thank you! :-) You'll have to bear with me on this keyboard - not the greatest, lol.
So how is everyone? I am very well... Landed in Thailand on Thursday, I think, and it feels like I have been here for ages. Have done so much so far!
The flight was fine! Slept 9 hours solid, leaving me only two hours being awake on the plane! First odd thing I noticed when I landed was a golf course in the middle of the runway! Very odd! And I'm not kidding either! Heheheh!
OK, got to Thailand at 3 in the afternoon and went straight to central Bangkok to meet Sarah... The hotel was beautiful, but can't say much for the rest of Bangkok really - the place isn't very nice, to be honest. Very dirty and third world, a shock to me as obviously something I've not experienced before, but on the other hand was good to experience it as we don't realize how lucky we really are. There were meat stalls everywhere of Thai people trying to sell anything to make money... I mean anything - I would not like to imagine what was cooking! Yuk!
We went out in the evening to look around... on the famous tuk-tuks... they were so much fun but I did fear for my life! LOL We went down a place famous for backpackers and met a few people but was feeling kind of tired so didn't party all night and just had a look around.
We left Bangkok next day and went on a 12-hour coach journey to Chiang Mai (north Thailand), slept most of the way and got here, erm, today... (I'm losing track of days already, lol).
We then went on a trip to the temple on the top of a mountain and prayed to the Buddhas, lol, and then we went to the zoo and got lost in the zoo! ...Knackered!!! :-)
Tomorrow we are heading off on a 2-day trek through the jungle, to ride elephants and do bamboo rafting and to get bitten by insects! :-( (I've learnt the hard way that they love my blood!)
Camping there and campfires and stuff - all the usual travellers' adventures...
Then we're flying to east Thailand and doing some island hopping! So not tons to tell but have only been here a few days so stories will get better, I promise!
Miss you all, well most of ya :-)
